Meet the Saida Pant – your new go-to beginner pant sewing pattern. Two looks, one easy-to-follow pattern, and zero zippers.

View A is a cargo pant with patch thigh pockets with flap closures, front pockets, back patch pockets, and a cinched drawstring hem with decorative tie detail. View B is a clean wide-leg pant with front pockets and a top stitched hem – the kind of everyday pant you’ll reach for every single week.

Both views feature a fully elasticated waistband. No zipper. No fly. No fitting drama. An Elastic Cutting Guide is included so you always cut the right amount for your size.

They’re perfect if you’re new to sewing or short on time. Expect straightforward construction with minimal hand sewing or fitting required. We recommend using easy-to-handle fabrics.

Confident Beginner:
Ideal for beginners ready to learn new skills. These patterns may include slightly more complex features like zippers or buttons, but they’re still relatively quick to sew. They provide more variety than basic beginner patterns but are great for those with limited sewing knowledge. Some fitting knowledge is helpful, and the fabrics may vary slightly but remain beginner-friendly.

Intermediate:
These patterns offer more details and design complexity, such as zippers, topstitching, or a zipper fly. Projects in this category can take more than 7 hours to complete, so they’re ideal if you have more time and experience. Expect techniques like tailoring or unique construction details. You’ll also encounter a wider variety of fabrics, from stretch knits to synthetic leathers.

Advanced:
Perfect for experienced sewists, these patterns are more detailed and time-consuming, often requiring 9+ hours to complete. Expect more pattern pieces, precision work, and advanced techniques like bound buttonholes or welt pockets. These are highly tailored designs that require patience and skill to achieve a professional finish.
