The Importance of Proper Bra Support

Ladies, in our journey of liberation, let’s not forget the importance of support – and I’m talking about bras. Going bra-less, wearing the wrong size, or lacking adequate support can negatively impact our figures. “Headlights” (nipples showing through your shirt) and the struggle with “chicken cutlets” (gravity taking its toll) are not the looks we’re aiming for.

The Foundation: Good Undergarments

A good fit for your clothes begins with the right undergarments, with bras topping the list. Surprisingly, around 80% of women wear the wrong bra size. Let’s explore some tips to enhance your fabulousness through the perfect fit.

Tips for Finding Your Correct Bra Size

1. Cup Containment

Ensure the top of the bra cup completely contains the breast. Bulging indicates a cup that is too small, while wrinkling suggests a cup that is too big.

2. Snug Bra Brand Fit

The bra band should fit snugly around the rib cage, providing firm support without being overly tight.

3. Back Stay

The back of the bra should stay down on the body. If it rides up, the band may be too large, compromising support.

Determining Your Correct Size: The Traditional Method

Let’s go through the most traditional way of determining your correct bra size.

Step 1: Band Size

Stand straight and, wearing a regular bra, wrap the tape measure above the bust. Ensure the tape is straight and taut but not restrictive. Round the measurement to the nearest even number – that’s your band size. For example, 35 ½ rounds to 36.

Step 2: Cup Size

While still standing and wearing a regular bra, measure the fullest part of your bust. Pull the tape taut without pinching. Round the measurement to the nearest whole number – for instance, 38 ½ rounds to 39.

Now, subtract your even-numbered band size (Step #1) from the whole-numbered measurement in Step #2. Convert the difference to your cup size using the chart.

Example Final Result

If the difference is 5, according to the chart, it results in a DD cup. So, if your band size is 34, and the bust measurement is 39, your final result is 34 DD.

Until next time, remember the importance of proper bra support and stay beautiful!
